Trumps Conservative Revolution
Comparing Trump to Hitler doesn’t quite fit. The shocking deeds of National Socialism and the Holocaust are incomparable.
However, in 2024, Americans could potentially repeat the catastrophic error committed by the Germans when they elected Hitler, ultimately paving the way for him to become their dictator.
A potential second term of Donald Trump could initiate a conservative revolution, particularly opening doors for the fossil fuel industry and climate denialists. The planned “Project 2025,” which Trump aims to implement after a potential election victory in 2025, envisions granting the President of the United States absolute power over the executive branch. However, this intention starkly contradicts the fundamental principles of the separation of powers and democratic governance outlined in the U.S. Constitution. The clear division of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches is intended to prevent abuse of power and protect the individual freedoms of citizens.

The “Project 2025” would nullify this central aspect of the U.S. Constitution and practically endow Trump with unprecedented power reminiscent of a dictator. The leadership of this project is in the hands of the Heritage Foundation, the most influential nationalist-conservative think tank in the USA, actively engaged in climate denial since the early 1990s, and is funded and supported by many of the US super-rich. Of course, like their figurehead Trump, they only work for the good of the little man 😉
The foundation also strongly advocates for privatization, deregulation, reductions in social benefits, and military preemptive actions. Notably, it played a key role in the political developments that led to the Iraq War.
A potential second Trump presidency would not only promote climate change denial and neoliberalism but also significantly increase the global risk of war.

A return to the White House for Trump, guided by the Heritage Foundation, would reveal a scenario in which the global risk of war could be significantly heightened:
Unilateral Decision-Making
One of the key factors contributing to the increased risk of global conflict is Trump’s inclination towards unilateral decision-making. During his previous term, Trump demonstrated a propensity to bypass traditional diplomatic channels and make crucial decisions, such as withdrawing from international agreements and treaties, without consulting key allies. This unpredictability could strain international relations and trigger unforeseen tensions.
Tensions with Traditional Allies
Trump’s “America First” approach often strained relations with longstanding allies. A second term could potentially exacerbate these tensions, leading to weakened alliances and diminished collaboration on critical geopolitical issues. Strong international partnerships have historically served as a deterrent to conflict, and their erosion could leave the global stage more susceptible to instability and power struggles.
Military Interventionism
The Trump administration was marked by a willingness to employ military force, as evidenced by actions such as the targeted strike on Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. A continuation of such interventionist tendencies in a second term could lead to further military engagements, heightening the risk of regional and global conflict. The potential for increased military presence and operations could escalate hostilities in already volatile regions.
Trade Wars and Economic Instability
Trump’s trade policies were a significant source of tension during his first term, marked by trade wars with China and tariff disputes with various nations. Economic instability resulting from these trade conflicts has the potential to spill over into political and military realms, creating a volatile environment conducive to international disputes and conflicts.
Nuclear Proliferation Concerns
The Trump administration’s approach to nuclear agreements, such as the withdrawal from the Iran Nuclear Deal, heightened concerns about the potential for nuclear proliferation. A second Trump term may further erode international efforts to control nuclear weapons, contributing to an environment where the threat of nuclear conflict becomes more pronounced.
Conclusion
The re-election of Trump as President of the United States would be a disaster for the fight against climate change, for democratic values and international stability.

Ways to actively help prevent Trump’s re-election.
Raise awareness
One of the basic actions is to create awareness of the potential consequences of Trump running for another term. By spreading information through social media, community discussions and engagement in public forums, people can help shed light on the global implications.
International solidarity
The challenges of today’s world require international cooperation. People around the world can join together through collective action, petitions and public appeals to form a strong and united front against a second Trump presidency.
Support for democratic institutions
Democratic institutions and principles are fundamental building blocks of a stable society. Citizens worldwide can work to support and strengthen democratic values to ensure that fair and transparent elections take place.
Informed voters
People in the U.S. and around the world can contribute by educating the electorate about political developments. Informed voters recognise disinformation, make better-informed decisions and can actively help shape policies that are in line with global interests.
Participation in international discourse
The global community can raise its voice by participating in international forums, discussions and conferences. An open dialog allows concerns to be raised and alternative perspectives to be presented to promote a broader discussion on the impact of policy decisions.
Promoting media literacy
Critical media literacy is crucial to recognizing misinformation and protecting the public from disinformation. People worldwide can strive to strengthen their media literacy and check sources to ensure an objective information base.
Conclusion
Preventing a second Donald Trump presidency requires a collective effort on a global scale. People around the world can help lay the foundations for a democratic and stable future by raising awareness, building international solidarity, supporting democratic institutions, informing the electorate, participating in international discourse and promoting media literacy.
There are only a few months left until the elections in the USA. I want to do everything in my power to prevent Trump from becoming president again. I don’t live in the USA, my power is small. But perhaps this article can help to raise awareness of the possible consequences of another Trump term in office and thus make a difference.
